Dr. Vedvyas is originally from South Brunswick, New Jersey. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Psychology with Honors from New York University, graduating summa cum laude with a minor in Chemistry. During this time, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi national honor societies. As an undergraduate, he was twice awarded research fellowships for his basic science research on infectious diseases at the Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Vedvyas then received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where he was awarded a PASTEUR fellowship for his original research identifying a serum marker to be predictive of patient outcomes in critical illness. He completed his internship at the Harvard Cambridge Hospital before leaving Boston. He then completed his dermatology residency at New York University Langone Medical Center, the nation's #1 ranked dermatology residency program according to US News and World Report during his time there.
Following residency, Dr. Vedvyas completed the prestigious Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas.
Dr. Vedvyas is a Mohs surgeon and a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. His research in Mohs Surgery, dermatology, and basic science appears in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has presented his work both local and national professional conferences.
Dr. Vedvyas enjoys music, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.
