Cameron Wales, MD, FCAP, is a specialist in dermatopathology as well as anatomic and clinical pathology. He holds board certifications in all three disciplines and is dedicated to providing the absolute best care for his patients.
At the practice’s offices in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Punta Gorda, Florida, Dr. Wales provides the highest quality diagnostic services when patients need answers about their skin growths. His special interests include melanocytic lesions, the correlation between tissue reaction patterns and clinical diagnoses, and the role of molecular diagnostics in dermatopathology.
Dr. Wales is a South Florida native. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz in biomolecular engineering graduating summa cum laude. Following graduation, he spent a year as a research assistant in the bioengineering department at Stanford University. He then went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, followed by a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Wales completed his fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
He is certified by the American Board of Pathologists (ABPath) and the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) and is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). He is also a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) and the International Society of Dermatopathology (ISDP).
Dr. Wales has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and has presented research findings at top professional meetings.

In his free time Dr. Wales enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, swimming, hiking, and fishing.
